Short runs. Hard choices. No right answer.
Each run is a sequence of encounters written in the voice of a dry, slightly exasperated war correspondent. A situation unfolds β a highway cutting through a migration route, a town overrun by rats, poachers moving through a conservancy at night β and you are given two moves. Both have a price. One usually looks better and hides a cost.
Your choices move four meters at once: how far the mission has progressed, how dangerous the situation is becoming, how healthy the surrounding ecosystem still is, and how much the humans who hired you still trust you. Push any of them too far and the run ends β in victory, in a messy compromise, or in collapse. Then you read what actually happened.
Play one species against a scenario written for its real strengths and weaknesses. Ants organise; wolves hunt; fungi wait.
Pair two species whose abilities combine β and whose interests may not. One of them can betray the other mid-run.
Longer campaigns set in a real place with a real client: a conservancy manager, a river community, a park ranger. The client means well. The client caused this.
59 species, each with real biology
Every species plays differently because every species is different. Powers and weaknesses are drawn from how the animal actually lives β population size, intelligence, what it eats, what eats it, where it can and cannot go. The numbers below are real.
Real places. Real clients. Real trade-offs.
The oldest grudges on the planet.
Everything here is trying to eat everything else. Including you.
Seventy per cent of the planet. Zero per cent consulted.
Old forests, long winters, longer memories.
The places you have never been, and the things that live there anyway.
Already in your city. Already in your street. Not leaving.
You invited us in. You just didn't know it.
Disrupt an organised poaching network before the dry season ends.
Drive illegal gold miners from Munduruku ancestral land before the river is poisoned beyond recovery.
End dynamite fishing before the blast concussions destroy the last intact coral system in the Triangle.
Get the mountain gorillas through a disease season without losing a family. Dr. Gladys sets the goal. The gorillas choose the means..
Stop the 'sanitary' logging of Europe's last lowland primeval forest before the harvesters reach the old stands.
Stop a test-mining collector stripping the abyssal plain before the regulators vote on deep-sea mining.
Stop a citywide insecticide fogging order without letting the tiger mosquito win.
Play the game. Fund the mission.
EcoMatch is not free to play, and that is the point. Your first species is on us; after that you unlock species, alliances and missions either by watching a short ad or by buying credits through a secure card payment. Nothing is sold that gives you an advantage β every unlock is content, never a win button.
A share of what players spend on the game's conservation missions goes to the field organisations whose work those missions are based on. When you play a mission set in a real place with a real client, the people doing that work on the ground get paid. Play the game. Fund the mission.
A short rewarded ad unlocks a species, alliance or mission run. No account upgrade, no subscription.
Card payments via Stripe. Credits never expire and are spent only on unlocks you choose.
A share of mission revenue is passed to the conservation partners the missions are built with.
Conservation is a trolley problem
Most games about nature put you in charge of saving it. EcoMatch puts you on the other side: you are the animal, the humans are the client, and the only tools you have are the ones your species actually possesses. There is no option that hurts nobody. The game is about noticing which costs you are willing to pay β and who ends up paying them.
Runs take five to fifteen minutes. There is nothing to install. Sign in, pick your first species, and see how long you last.
